Introduction
Platform for the Needy (PLANE) is a non-profit and NGO operating in Uganda, with offices in Fort Portal, Western Uganda. We advocate for the protection of children, youth, and women’s rights, aiming to create a healthy, violence-free society. Our empowerment programs, human rights advocacy, and health and literacy promotion efforts transform the lives of disadvantaged populations in Uganda.

Key Initiatives
Educational Support by Platform for the Needy
We focus on eliminating barriers to education for needy children and orphans. By providing school supplies, uniforms, and tuition support, Platform for the Needy ensures every child has the opportunity to receive a proper education.
Maternal and Reproductive Health Programs
Emphasizing maternal and reproductive health, Platform for the Needy conducts awareness campaigns, operates health clinics, and offers support services. This ensures women have access to essential healthcare, promoting a culture of health and wellness.
Empowerment for Teenage Mothers
Our programs aim to break the cycle of poverty by empowering young mothers with vocational training, financial literacy, and emotional support. Consequently, these young mothers can become self-sufficient and independent.
Gender-Based Violence Prevention Efforts
We advocate for the rights and protection of women and girls against all forms of abuse and discrimination. Through counseling services, legal support, and community outreach, we create a safe environment for victims to seek help and justice.
Environmental Education and Conservation
Recognizing the importance of sustainable practices, Platform for the Needy promotes environmental stewardship through awareness programs, tree planting initiatives, and waste management projects.
