PLANE’s Girls Matter Mentorship Program

PLANE’s Girls Matter Mentorship Program inspires girls in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions to be confident leaders through peer-to-peer mentoring. Older secondary school girls gain knowledge and practical experience by planning and running weekly/ monthly dialogues with other older secondary students. As they build a supportive network, younger secondary school girls learn valuable skills in a safe environment with peers who understand the difficulties and challenges they experience.

The Girls Matter Mentorship program provides a framework where teenage girls can meet together to: identify their challenges, find the strength to handle issues affecting them, learn new skills, create a network of support, and learn how to say NO to early and unprotected sex. Our comprehensive program of Girls Matter Mentorship has been designed to help girls learn leadership skills and self-confidence through practical experience.
