Brass For Africa Visits PLATFORM for the NEEDY, Commends Organization’s Impact
Fort Portal Uganda – Brass for Africa, a renowned UK charity that delivers music and life skills education organization, has visited PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE), a community-based organization serving vulnerable communities in Uganda. The visit aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities and commend PLANE’s remarkable work in addressing pressing issues affecting youth and women.

Mr.Bernard Bwambale, Partner Relations& Executive Assistant to Director of Music Education at Brass for Africa, expressed his admiration for PLANE’s dedication to empowering marginalized communities. “We are impressed by PLANE’s tireless efforts to address child marriage, teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence, and youth skilling through drama and filming,” Bwambale said.
“Our organization shares similar values, and we believe that music and brass skills can be a powerful tool in addressing poverty and providing employment opportunities for young people especially those out of school.”
Mr.Bwambale Excites to be welcomed at PLANE and glad to see the amazing work done by the organization.
Bwambale explained, “At Brass for Africa we use music and train adolescent youth in music life skills using our trained music teachers as a social change to bring about positive transformation in their lives and society”.

Steven Waddell, Executive Director of PLANE, welcomed the partnership opportunity, highlighting the organization’s commitment to using drama and music as a medium for social change.
“We use drama to educate and sensitize communities on critical issues such as domestic violence, human rights, health, family planning, and teenage pregnancies,” Waddell explained.
“Additionally, our drama group serves as an income-generating activity for our members, providing them with a sense of purpose and financial stability.”
“We believe that our partnership will not only skill the youth in music and brass band but also amplify the critical messages that PLANE is already conveying through their drama performances,” Bwambale emphasized.
He added that when the assessment is completed, Brass for Africa will send a music teacher who will camp at the organization premises training the drama and film members equipping them with the knowledge and skills in music.

Waddell expressed his gratitude for the visit and the prospective potential partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to explore this collaboration, which will undoubtedly enhance our impact and reach even more vulnerable communities.”
As the visit came to a close, both organizations looked forward to a fruitful partnership, united in their quest to empower marginalized communities and create a brighter future for Uganda’s youth.
